Andrea Zanussi did not start for his last chance of th European Championship as he was called up for National Service; he was replaced by Jean-Louis Clarr. Both cars had lots of distributor problems, the team changed a total of 5 units for both cars!

In Germany Walter Rohrl/Christian Geistdorfer won the ADAC Rally (Sep 3/4) and came second on the ADAC Saarland Rally (Apr 8/10).
