An attempt to create a national endurance championship in Italy. It started in 1997 and consisted of three events among which 1000 kilometres of Monza was best known and well supported. Starting field was made by FIA and Coppa GT classes as well as prototypes WSC and CN. After two years of its existence it ended before 1999 season when 1000 km Monza changed its format and was held as two independent 500 kilometres races counted to FIA GT and SRWC.
